The first thing I noticed about this blade plug is the high level of craftsmanship. The blade plug is very well made and everything’s very polished and smooth. The blade plug has the look and feel of quality. The blade plug features two rings in its design: an upper ring and an interior ring, both made of brass. A conical piece juts out of the center of the blade plug.
The core of the blade plug is made from acrylic and the outer tube of the blade plug is polycarbonate. Unlike most other blade plugs, the Mechanical Design Brass Multi Ring Glow Core blade plug is solid due to the acrylic glow core. The the brass rings and conical center give the blade plug a reactor or turbine feel.
The blade plug is designed for hilts using a 1 inch diameter blade socket. The blade plug is also 1.5 inches long, a standard blade plug length. The blade plug is designed to work with hilts from many of the common lightsaber manufacturers like: Ultrasabers, Saberforge, Vader’s Vault, etc.
The brass elements complement various lightsaber hilt designs. The blade plug, along with other defconbird designs, uses a glow core. The glow core is able to glow in the dark after being exposed to a light source, which is a nice bonus feature.
