Ultrasabers Dominix V2 Lightsaber Full review | Fire Orange Stunt Saber

The Ultrasabers Dominix V2 is one of the cheapest lightsabers that Ultrasabers sells. All of the Ultrasabers V2 hilts by Ultrasabers are stunt sabers (no sound) or empty hilts only. Ultrasabers V2 hilts are NOT available as sound sabers since they are smaller in diameter than the other Ultrasabers lightsaber hilts. The smaller diameter also means that V2 hilts are not Modular Hilt System (MHS) compatible. Also, connecting two V2 hilts together requires a special V2 coupler.

The Dominix V2 comes in solid black. The light side counterpart to the Dominix V2 is the metallic silver Aeon V2. If a solid black hilt is too plain for your taste, you could select a Dominix LE V2, which is the same black hilt model with some metallic silver accent marks filling the grooves in the grip area. Otherwise, you could customize the hilt yourself, adding O-rings to the grip area or other personalized features.

The hilt features a guarded metallic red switch. The red switch indicates that the blade color is a ‘dark side’ color (i.e. either Fire Orange or Blazing Red). For most other Ultrasabers blade colors–the ‘light side’ colors–the guarded switch color would be metallic blue. Ultrasabers also offers the option of upgrading to an AV switch in black or metallic silver for an additional $15.

The Dominix V2 is 12 inches long, so it’s a nice length for a two-handed lightsaber. The hilt is 1.375 inches in diameter, which is smaller than non-V2 hilt styles. The smaller diameter make the hilt easier for kids to handle, but since the hilt is 12 inches long, the shorter Initiate V2 and Dark Initiate V2 may be a better fit for children.

Design wise, the Ultrasabers Dominix V2 is pretty basic, flat and very much flashlight lightsaber. The grooves in the grip area and the slightly wider emitter area add some character to the hilt. The simplicity of the hilt allows for more opportunities for customization. Plus, some lightsaber enthusiasts like the basic, no-frills minimalism, especially for a dueling lightsaber.

Dominix V2 is one of the most affordable lightsabers that Ultrasabers sells, making it an attractive option as an entry-level, first lightsaber or as a beater lightsaber. Dominix V2 is also a very common saber to receive as a Grab Bag Saber or Mystery Box Saber.

Overall, Dominix V2 is a no frills, affordable stunt saber worth considering as a first lightsaber.
