Parks Sabers is a custom saber company based in Texas that specializes in character inspired lightsaber hilts. Lightsaber maker Jeffrey Parks founded the company in the 1990s, making Parks Sabers one of the oldest custom saber companies in existence. Lightsabers made by the company are sometimes referred to simply as ‘Parks’ for short (not to be confused with the officially licensed Disney Parks lightsabers).

The Parks Sabers website launched in 1999, although Parks had been making lightsabers since 1993. Most early Parks Sabers designs included custom designs (i.e. not character inspired). For many years, the company sold empty hilts for cosplay, EL Sabers (electro-luminescent) and later Phase Sabers (in-blade LED).

In 2017, the Parks Sabers website endured a massive overhaul. The company decided to sell only empty hilts and stopped selling installed lightsabers altogether. Parks Sabers discontinued all of its non-character inspired hilts and decided to focus on selling only the most sought after character inspired hilts for marquee characters like Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Kylo Ren.

In late 2018, Jeffrey Parks started selling budget-friendly, character inspired lightsaber hilts through his personal eBay account, aynranfan [affiliate link] (Parks has stated that The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand is his favorite book). Parks continues to operate the website as well, but the hilt prices are lower on the eBay account. Several hilt styles on eBay are currently priced at $119 including free United States shipping.

  1. I own a beautiful Park saber from probably around 2000-2003. I don’t remember the name of it but it does have the EL blade. I do remember it being pretty expensive but it was so worth it, the quality is impeccable. It’s definitely a one-of-a-kind and not modeled after any character sabers. I really like it since it has an exposed EL wire wrap in the hilt that matches the blade. Still in perfect working order too.
