The lightsaber group likely switched names in order to avoid association with the abbreviation ‘IRA’, which is commonly used to refer to the notorious paramilitary group the Irish Republican Army.
Some buyers in the the lightsaber forums had reported getting Paypal payments frozen due to the inclusion of the term IRA. One of the popular functions of the group now known as The Rebel Armory (TRA) is to provide many buy/sell threads for custom lightsabers and accessories.
Although the group started rebranding as The Rebel Armory (TRA) as early as April 2017, the switch over to http://therebelarmory.com domain was not completed until late September 2017.
Unfortunately, The Rebel Armory (TRA) did not keep the Imperial Royal Arms (IRA) domain name in order to redirect web traffic. As a result, many Facebook groups and pages contain old and broken links to the inactive Imperial Royal Arms website.
