1. Force FX Lightsaber Battery Packs are NOT Universal or Interchangeable
Although the technology for each battery pack is the same, each Black Series: Force FX lightsaber uses a distinctive battery pack tailored to the specific hilt model. For example, Kylo Ren Force FX Lightsaber battery pack uses an extra plastic piece on the end that adds several inches to the length of the battery pack. The Darth Vader Force FX Lightsaber uses a small circular section that fits with the Darth Vader Force FX lightsaber pommel.

2. Wireless Force FX Lightsaber Battery Packs are Easy to Misplace
Star Wars: The Black Series Force FX lightsabers use wireless battery packs with contacts that connect to the lightsaber hilt. The wireless nature of the battery packs makes it easy to remove the battery pack from the lightsaber. Since the battery packs are easily separated from the lightsaber, many lightsaber enthusiasts end up losing the battery pack. The battery pack could roll under the desk or simply get put away in a separate drawer or box from the lightsaber.

By comparison, it’s very rare to hear a case of someone losing a wired battery pack from custom lightsaber manufactureres like: Ultrasabers, Saberforge, Vader’s Vault, Sabertrio, etc.

3. Replacement Force FX Lightsaber Battery Packs are Hard to Find
Hasbro DOES NOT offer replacement Force FX lightsaber battery packs on their website. That means if you lose a Force FX lightsaber battery pack, you will need to scour the secondary market for a replacement. Force FX lightsaber battery packs do turn up occasionally on eBay, in lightsaber forums, or in lightsaber Facebook groups, but the availability is sporadic and the replacement pack can easily cost $50 or more.
