Ultrasabers Midgrade vs Heavy Grade Lightsaber Blade Comparison

Ultrasabers is a pretty common and affordable source for purchasing 1 inch diameter lightsaber blades. The company offers two blade thicknesses: Midgrade and Heavy Grade. The two main differences between Ultrasabers Midgrade Blades and Heavy Grade Blades are lightsaber blade durability and brightness. Lightsaber Blade Durability
Ultrasabers Heavy Grade Blades are designs for heavy dueling and they’re designed to take a beating. Heavy Grade blades are drastically heavier than Midgrade Blades. My 36 inch Ultrasabers Ultraedge Heavy Grade Blade weighs 10.7 ounces and my Ultrasabers Ultraedge Midgrade Blade weighs only 6.4 ounces. Similarly, Ultrasabers Heavy Grade blades are nearly double the thickness of Ultrasabers Midgrade Blades. If you need a durable, duel worthy, blade, you would want to select an Ultrasabers Heavy Grade Blade.

Lightsaber Blade Brightness
Ultrasabers Heavy Grade Blades block out more of the light from the LED, so they are not as bright as Ultrasabers Midgrade Blades. If you’re more interested in blade brightness and less interested in heavy dueling, then a Midgrade Blade may be a better fit for you.

What is ‘Ultraedge’ and how does it affect the blade?
The Ultrasabers term ‘Ultraedge’ denotes a white blade that Ultrasabers. The term ‘Ultraedge’ does not affect the durability of the blade. Ultrasabers offers two types of non-Ultraedge blades simply called ‘Heavy Grade Blades’ and ‘Midgrade Blades’ that have a more silvery appearance as well as a coring effect while illuminated. ‘Ultraedge Heavy Grade Blades’ and ‘Ultraedge Midgrade Blades’ are white blades.

Ultrasabers Blade Buying Tips
Ultrasabers Grab Bag Sabers include the option of selecting a Heavy Grade Blade free of charge. All Mystery Box Sabers only include Midgrade Blades (no option for Heavy Grade). You can’t control the blade thickness or blade style that you receive as a Grab Bag Blade, although it’s possible to receive a mix of Midgrade Blades and Heavy Grade Blades.
