Lab1’s emitter features a gorgeous u-shaped cutout and two long, narrow windows. Set screws encircle the bottom of the emitter. The exposed crystal chamber features a gold-colored skeleton with a transparent crystal inside. The crystal illuminates. A decorative red greeblie and illuminated AV activation switch are situated in the middle of the hilt. The lower part of the hilt features a knurled grip. A gear-like, pommel cube design caps off the end of the hilt.
The hilt is about 12.6in (32cm) long and 1.4in (3.6cm) in diameter. The removable pearl white diffused midgrade blade, which is included, is about 35.4in (90cm) long. The hilt accepts a 1 inch diameter blade.
Lab1 uses a V4 board for the RGB color changing version and a Synthetic V1 board for the single color LED version. The single LED sabers use a newer sound board than the RGB saber. Both models include 3 sound fonts and a mute function.
The saber features 3W speakers, a 12W LED, and an in-hilt recharge port (USB). Lab1 is powered by a rechargeable 18650 Li-ion battery. Triple clicking the activation switch allows you to cycle through the 16 different blade colors on the RGB saber. Note that the crystal chamber for the RGB saber continuously cycles through the colors (you cannot stop on one color).
