The Anakin Solo lightsaber is a single-hilt lightsaber with a violet blade in Star Wars Legends. Anakin Solo, the youngest son of Han Solo and Leia Organa Solo, attends Luke Skywalker’s Jedi Academy before getting promoted to Jedi Knight and becoming Luke Skwalker’s apprentice. Solo is pivotal fighter in the Yuuzhan Vong War.
As a trainee at the Jedi Academy, Anakin, along with a small group of Jedi and Jedi trainees, helps recover Obi-Wan Kenobi’s lightsaber from the Bast Castle on the planet Vjun. Anakin Solo constructs his own lightsaber with a similar design to the Original Trilogy Obi-Wan Kenobi lightsaber.
The Anakin Solo lightsaber features a flanged emitter, thin-neck, and notched pommel. When constructing the lightsaber, Anakin Solo employs a lambent as a lightsaber crystal. The lambent, which is derived from a Yuuzhan Vong plant, helps Anakin vaguely sense if Yuuzhan Vong are nearby.
Anakin Solo fights valiantly in the Yuuzhan Vong War, sacrificing himself in battle in order to buy his friends enough time to complete the mission of killing the deadly voxyn queen.
Anakin Solo’s older brother, Jacen Solo, wields the Anakin Solo lightsaber to during his battle with the voxyn queen, ultimately killing the creature and accomplishing the mission. The Yuuzhan Vong subsequently capture Jacen Solo and acquire the Anakin Solo lightsaber.
During Jacen’s captivity, the Yuuzhan Vong provide the lightsaber to Solo in exchange for his conversion to the Yuuzhan Vong religion. Nearly a year later, Jedi Ganner Rhysode arrives to rescue Jacen Solo. Jacen Solo gives the Anakin Solo lightsaber to Rhysode in order to demonstrate his trust in Rhysode and prove the disingenuous nature of his conversion. Rhysode wields the lightsaber in battle and is ultimately killed in combat. The Yuuzhan Vong recover the lightsaber.
Shimrra Jamaane, Supreme Overlord of the Yuuzhan Vong, is presented with the Anakin Solo lightsaber and later attempts to kill Luke Skywalker with his nephew’s lightsaber. Skywalker prevails, killing the overlord.
Following the eventual surrender of the Vuuzhan Vong and end of the war, Han Solo visits Kashyyyk, driving his son’s lightsaber into Chewbacca’s memorial tree to pay his respects and say goodbye to his deceased son and best friend.
