Korbanth unveiled the GL9 lightsaber today. The custom saber is inspired by the design of the Leia lightsaber in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. The Korbanth GL9 lightsaber run opens for pre-orders on February 1, 2020 with an estimated shipping date in late March 2020. Korbanth states they are releasing the hilt as a “very small run”.
Korbanth GL9, a thin neck saber, features a chrome and brass exterior blending Original Trilogy design sensibilities with regal undertones. The radiator style, flanged emitter is comprised of a stack of four rings. Below the emitter, the thin-neck design parallels the Luke Skywalker ROTJ lightsaber and the Obi-Wan Kenobi ANH lightsaber. The activation switch is housed inside a small, angled activation box. A series of angular vertical grips encircle the mid to lower part of the hilt body. The grips taper near the middle and widen near the ends. The bottom of the pommel comes equipped with a D-ring.
The hilt accommodates a 1 inch diameter blade and is designed to accept electronics installs, including neopixel configurations (i.e. Proffieboard or CFX).
Korbanth is a United States based custom saber company that offers may custom character inspired lightsabers.
