Saberforge unveiled the Cyber Assassin lightsaber, a flat, curved-hilt lightsaber with a futuristic and sinister vibe. The unorthodox custom saber design features a sleek, minimalistic, utilitarian sensibility with dark side overtones. Saberforge founder Phil Isherwood describes the new Saberforge Cyber Assassin, as a “futuristic mass produced sidearm for warriors of the far future…or the distant past.” Saberforge Cyber Assassin lightsaber is slated for release in June 2020.
Cyber Assassin is comprised of a one-piece hilt body. The design features a claw-like notch in the emitter, a u-shaped deep cutout on the front face of the hilt, and a flat, black cylinder near the emitter area on each side of the hilt. A series of thin horizontal grooves extend from the top of the hilt to the bottom on the front and back of the hilt. Each side of the hilt features a flat profile grip section.
Isherwood states that the lightsaber is Saberforge’s “first monocore saber” and the hilt design uses the “same principle[s] as a high end firearm sound suppressor.” Although the hilt is flat, the Cyber Assassin is designed to accommodate a 1 inch diameter blade.
Saberforge is one of the largest custom saber companies in the world. Based in the United States, the company offers one of the widest selections of custom lightsaber designs.
