Dave Filoni, co-creator of the animated series Star Wars Rebels, states that Ahsoka’s lightsaber blades are white in order to denote her non-affiliation. “[Ahsoka’s] blades are basically white because she’s not a Jedi and she’s not evil,” Filoni said in Rebels Recon #1.14.

White Lightsabers in Star Wars Canon

Ahsoka Tano first wields a pair of white lightsabers in the animated series Star Wars Rebels. Tano’s white lightsabers are the first and currently only white lightsabers in Star Wars Canon. Ahsoka Tano’s white lightsabers use the crystals from the red-bladed Inquisitor lightsaber of the Sixth Brother. Tano purified the tainted crystals from their darkness, enabling the her lightsabers to emit white blades rather than red ones.

White Lightsabers in Star Wars Legends

The Imperial Knights, a group of Force-users loyal to the Galactic Empire and later the Empire-in-exile, wielded white lightsabers. A white with a black core lightsaber blade is a playable blade color option in the video game Star Wars: The Old Republic.

White Lightsaber Color Theory

A white lightsaber blade may connote positivity, neutrality, purity, cleanliness and a new beginning. White is achromatic, meaning the color has not hue.
