The custom saber, an original design, is influenced by the design of the Clone Wars era clan sabers (i.e. generic lightsabers wielded by niche Jedi). The Illuminated Saber Electrum Battalion Issue lightsaber is available as an empty hilt ready for display and also capable of accepting electronics. The company offers an installed version of the saber as well. Illuminated Saber released the Electrum Battalion Issue lightsaber in November 2016.

The Electrum Battalion Issue lightsaber is comprised of a machined aluminum hilt with a polished finish and anodized gold accents (i.e. electrum) on the emitter, low profile control box, and pommel. The hilt breaks down into four main pieces: blade holder assembly, main body, lower grip section, and vented pommel. The anodized gold control box assembly includes a red 12mm momentary switch and a recharge port. The hilt kit includes the necessary 4-40 screw (to attach the control box) and 6-32 blade retention screw.
The ergonomic design of the hilt provides a comfortable one-handed or two-handed grip. The choke point near the emitter facilitates spinning and maneuvering. The elegant hilt design also favors additional customization by the end user (i.e. weathering, O-rings, adding a leather wrap to grip section, etc.).
