The Illuminated Saber R1 lightsaber has been released. The custom saber, an original design with a faux thin neck, is influenced by the design of the Luke ROTJ lightsaber. The Illuminated Saber R1 lightsaber is available as an empty hilt that may be installed with electronics.

The R1 Lightsaber is made of 6061 aircraft aluminum. The hilt features a polished aluminum finish with anodized copper and anodized black accents. The anodized copper blade holder tapers slightly from the flared emitter to form a faux thin neck. The wider-than-traditional neck makes the hilt more durable and easier to install with electronics than a traditional thin neck saber. The blade holder accepts a 1 inch diameter blade (not included).
The main body is anodized black in the grooves of the grip section. The low profile, anodized copper activation box is tapped for one 16mm and one 12mm switch. The body section also features a tapped hole (4-40) and recharge port hole (5/16 – 32). A raised edge or lip extends across each long side of the activation box. A notched, 8-section pommel caps off the end of the hilt. The 4-40 activation box screw and 6/32 blade retention screw are included.
