The Sith Holocron with Light and Sound is a collectible, pyramid-shaped device that’s exclusively available at Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities at Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland and Disney World. According to Star Wars lore, a holocron is a palm-sized ancient information receptacle utilized by both Jedi Knights and Sith Lords. As a security measure, many of the ancient artifacts require using the Force to open the device. The ancient artifact may also unlock temples in some cases.

What’s Included with the Sith Holocron

Sith Holocron includes four main items: the holocron itself (battery included), a black carrying bag, USB charging cord, and small instruction booklet.
The pyramid-shaped Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge Sith Holocron, which is made of plastic, features white sides with red detailing and gold trim and corners. Holocron measures about 4.5 inches high. Holocron comes packaged in a sleek, black drawstring bag. Bag is made of synthetic leather and is labeled “Black Spire Outpost” in English in a futuristic text somewhat similar to Aurebesh script. Holocron comes equipped with a rechargeable battery and includes a USB charging cord.
A kyber crystal is not required to use the holocron. Without a kyber crystal, the only dialogue you will hear from the Sith Holocron is dialogue from the ancient Sith Darth Bane (voice by none other than Mark Hamill himself!).
Sith Holocron DOES NOT include any kyber crystals, which interact with the holocron and unlock dialogue. Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities sells kyber crystals separately (they are available in Sithly red and a variety of other colors). If you already constructed a lightsaber at Savi’s Workshop, you may remove your kyber crystal from the lightsaber’s crystal chamber and use the kyber crystal with Sith holocron.
How to Use the Galaxy’s Edge Sith Holocron
1. Ensure the Holocron is Charged
The device includes a battery right of the shelf. Attach the included USB cable to the device to charge the holocron. You can find the USB charge port on the lower part of one of the triangular faces of the pyramid.
2. Select and Install a Kyber Crystal (Optional)
Select a Galaxy’s Edge Kyber Crystal (sold separately) to install in the device. One face of the holocron features a hidden drawer to access a small chamber. Put your selected kyber crystal inside the drawer and slide the drawer closed. The device will make a crackling noise when it recognizes the crystal.
3. Activate the Holocron
Now you will unlock the secrets of the holocron! Simply turn the top corners of the device counter clockwise, and the other three corners will turn at the same time. Be careful, don’t force the corners to turn too far or you could break them. The holocron will light up red and start making activation sounds. After activating, the device will make idling sounds.
4. Unlock the Character Dialogue
Next, press and hold two of the sides to unlock dialogue from the holocron. The light pattern on the holocron will become lively and flicker as the holocron plays the dialogue. If you have no kyber crystal installed, you will activate dialogue from the ancient Sith Darth Bane. If you install a kyber crystal, you will unlock different dialogue from different characters. Each crystal, however, will only play the dialogue of one character inside the Sith Holocron.
Note that there are five different red kyber crystal variations with five different sets of dialogue each. The rare black kyber crystal unlocks dialogue from Snoke. All of the light side kyber crystals (i.e. non-red kyber crystals) unlock Emperor Palpatine dialogue, mostly tempting you to join the dark side!
5. Deactivate the Holocron
Turn the top corner clockwise, back to its original position, in order to deactivate the holocron. The device will make a deactivation noise. Swap out the kyber crystal with a different one and repeat steps 1 to 5!
Bendu Mode: Combining the Jedi Holocron and Sith Holocron
If you pair a Galaxy’s Edge Jedi Holocron (sold separately) with your Galaxy’s Edge Sith Holocron, you can access Bendu Mode and unlock bonus dialogue. The bonus dialogue is only available when you activate both holocrons at once.
How to Buy a Sith Holocron
The only official place to buy the Sith Holocron is at Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities at Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge. If you can’t go to the park yourself, sellers offer the device secondhand on marketplaces like Amazon and eBay. Note that secondhand sellers usually charge a higher price than you would pay at Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge.
