The AFAY Props x SaberMach ZERO-5 lightsaber has been unveiled. The custom saber, an original design available as an empty hilt, is intended to serve extremely customizable and install-friendly hilt. The ‘blank canvas’ hilt is a collaboration between AFAY Props x SaberMach ZERO-5 lightsaber is exclusively available in the SaberMach store starting June 2021. The hilt kit includes one shroud (an optional second shroud is available as an upgrade).

The ZERO-5 lightsaber is a machined aluminum hilt (the factory finished hilt may have some minor imperfections). The hilt is comprised of four main pieces: emitter shroud, emitter/switch section, lower grip section, and a notched pommel with sound vents. An extra shroud is available as an upgrade.
Each kit also includes one M4 blade retention screw, two M3 button head screws (to attach the shroud), two grub screws to attach an LED heatsink or pixel-pin holder (not included). Switches are not included.
The inside diameter (ID) of the blade socket is 25.6mm. The blade socket depth is 49.1mm. The thin neck ID is 15mm. The pommel and grip section ID is 26.4 with a depth of 140mm. The main switch hole is 12mm (may accept a momentary switch) and the aux switch hole is 5.15mm (may accept a press-fit dome tactile switch).
The ‘blank canvas’ design of the hilt opens many creative opportunities for DIY customizations including: etching, powdercoating, wrapping, weathering, etc.
