Mira Lightsaber in Star Wars Legends

Mira begins training as a Jedi at a young age at the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. Jedi Master Sora Bulq, a famous lightsaber duelist, selects Mira as his apprentice. Mira does not share his skill and interest in lightsaber combat instead honing her skills in peacekeeping. During her apprenticeship, Mira and Bulq travel the galaxy together. She ascends to the rank of Jedi Knight.

Following the eruption of the Clone Wars, Mira refuses to take the rank of Jedi General in the newly formed Grand Army of the Republic. She invokes the Right of Denial, a tradition allowing a Jedi to protest an order from the Jedi Council.

When the Jedi Council becomes concerned about a possible schism, Jedi Council member Mace Windu agrees to informally meet with Mira along with several additional dissenting Jedi on the moon Ruul. Windu arrives and prepares to meet with Mira, K’Kruhk, Sian Jeisel, Rhad Tarn, and Mira’s former master Sora Bulq.

Meanwhile, the Dark Jedi Asajj Ventress ambushes Sora Bulq. Mira witnesses the Ventress engaging her former master in a lightsaber duel. The other dissenting Jedi, including Mira, are unaware that Sora Bulq had turned to the dark side several weeks prior. The meeting and the lightsaber duel are both ruses intended to lure Mace Windu within range of the deadly assassin Asajj Ventress.

Mira alerts the other Jedi to the presence of an assassin. She then uses the Force to throw rocks at Ventress and joins the lightsaber duel. Bulq warns Mira to stay way, saying that she is no match for the assassin. Moments later Asajj Ventress strikes Mira down, killing the Jedi.

Despite his turning to the dark side, Sora Bulq is surprised by his former apprentice’s passing and mourns her death.
