Darth Angral Lightsaber Construction and History

The Darth Angral lightsaber, a Sith lightsaber, is comprised of a cylindrical hilt. The lightsaber emits a red blade. The hilt is primarily metallic silver in color with a black switch section and lower grip section along with a few red accents. The hilt features two aggressive, triangular, pincer-like claws in the emitter.

Darth Angral is a skilled lightsaber duelist. He is also skilled in the art of saber throw, a telekinetic lightsaber combat technique in which the lightsaber wielder boomerangs a lightsaber through the air. Angral complements his lightsaber skills with Force abilities including: Force whirlwind and Force lightning, including the ability to form the Force lightning into a shield.

Darth Angral plays a pivotal role in ending the Great Galactic War between the Galactic Republic and the resurgent Sith Empire. Angral leads the Sacking of Coruscant. Jedi Master Orgus Din, the “Plain Jedi”, engages Darth Angral in lightsaber combat. Angral defeats Din, but the Jedi Master escapes. Next, Angral storms the Senate Building and uses his lightsaber to strike down Supreme Chancellor Berooken. The assassination and destruction Coruscant prompts the Treaty of Coruscant and the end of the war. Angral is furious with the treaty, believing the Sith Empire has missed an opportunity to destroy all of the Jedi and the Republic once and for all.

During the subsequent Cold War, Darth Angral’s son, the Sith Lord Tarnis, is killed during a mission by a powerful Jedi who would become known as the Hero of Tython. Vowing to exact revenge on the Jedi and the galaxy, Darth Angral constructs the Desolator, a superweapon capable of destroying a planets. He tests the superweapon on a Republic farm world, enacting total destruction. Next, he targets Tython. Jedi Master Orgus Din reaches out in the Force and locates Angral’s ship, the Oppressor. The Jedi fights Angral. Angral ultimately defeats Din, killing the Jedi Master.

The Jedi who would become known as the Hero of Tython along with his Padawan Kira Carsen manage to covertly disable the Desolator prior to its activation. The two Jedi confront Darth Angral on the bridge of the ship Oppressor. After Angral unsuccessfully urges Kira to join the dark side, a lightsaber duel ensues between Darth Angral and the two Jedi. No match for his opponents, Angral is wounded in the duel. The Sith Emperor briefly possesses Kira and duels with the Jedi Knight. Angral dies of his battle wounds in the process. The fate of the Darth Angral lightsaber is unknown.
