A gold lightsaber, similar to a yellow lightsaber, is an uncommon lightsaber blade color in Star Wars Canon. The Rey Skywalker Lightsaber emits a “white gold” blade. The lightsaber is shown in the film Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (2019), and characterized as emitting a “white gold” blade in the novelization.
Gold Lightsabers in Star Wars Canon
The Rey Skywalker lightsaber, which is build from Rey’s quarterstaff and other salvaged parts, emits a gold blade. Although the Rey Skywalker lightsaber is sometimes attributed as emitting a similar yellow blade, the Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker novelization (2019) characterizes the lightsaber as emitting a “white gold” blade.
In Star Wars Canon, electrum is a rare crystal that adds a cosmetic gold colored finish to lightsaber hilts. The Mace Windu lightsaber and the two Palpatine lightsabers feature electrum detailing.
Gold Lightsabers in Real Life
No officially licensed gold lightsabers exist in real life. Master Replicas offered lightsabers with a gold hilt finish as an uncommon variant for many of the company’s ‘mini’ .45 scale lightsaber hilt props.
A gold lightsaber blade is similar in color to some shades of yellow lightsaber blades. Lightsaber enthusiasts with customizable custom RGB lightsabers and neopixel sabers may be able to select a blade color somewhat similar to gold.
