Hasbro started manufacturing Signature Series Force FX lightsabers in 2008 after taking over the Force FX lightsaber license from Master Replicas (Master Replicas made Force FX lightsabers from 2002 to 2007). Hasbro’s Signature Series Force FX Lightsaber line, now out of production, was succeeded by Hasbro’s current The Black Series Force FX Lightsaber line.

Since Signature Series Force FX lightsabers are out production, some of the lightsabers in the line are highly sought after by Star Wars collectors. Some Signature Series lightsabers in new or excellent condition may sell for up to $500-$1000+ on sites like eBay.

Although the majority of Force FX lightsabers use a permanently attached string blade, 5 of the Signature Series lightsaber models include a removable blade. The removable blade models include a belt clip so the user can wear the hilt.

The Signature Series features some more obscure lightsaber hilt designs including: Count Dooku, Kit Fisto, and Asajj Ventress. Notably, the Assajj Ventress Signature Series Force FX Lightsaber, which is based on the character’s lightsaber in The Clone Wars, is the only Force FX lightsaber design not based on a lightsaber from a live-action Star Wars movie.

Star Wars Signature Series Lightsabers, like all Force FX Lightsabers, are NOT duel worthy. Although the blades may be able to handle some light contact, the wielders risk damaging the LEDs contained within the blade during more rigorous dueling. The lightsabers may undergo a Force FX conversion in order become duel worthy.
