The Vaapad Saber Armoury Mediaeval Lightsaber has been unveiled. The custom saber, a crossguard lightsaber with a metal crossguard, is an original design resembling an ancient lightsaber (or a real world broadsword). The Mediaeval lightsaber is Vaapad Saber Armoury’s first ever lightsaber hilt run. The company expects to ship the Mediaeval lightsaber in late 2018 or early 2019.
Update: In January 2019, owner/operator Takeshi K. Skirata announced he would “be stepping away from the lightsaber business for the foreseeable future.” (Source: Vaapad Saber Armoury Facebook Post, January 21, 2019). Multiple buyers have claimed to have never received their order or a refund.

The Mediaeval Lightsaber measures 12.25 inches long and the crossguard measures 7.375 inches across. The slim grip section features a maximum outside diameter (OD) of 1.25 inches. A copper heatsink and the required 6-32 screws are included. The lightsaber accepts a 1 inch diameter blade. Ripper Blades developed the Straight Ripper Blade [affiliate link] specifically to pair with the Mediaeval Lightsaber (the broadsword style flat arcylic lightsaber blade is sold separately).

Vaapad Saber Armoury is offering the Mediaeval Lightsaber as an empty hilt or installed as a stunt saber (in-hilt LED only, no sound) or sound saber (in-hilt LED and soundboard). The company offers powdercoating, acid etching, leather wrapping, and other customizing services as well.
