Grif’s Custom Lightsabers Kota Lightsaber has been unveiled. The custom saber is inspired by the design of the katana influenced Rahm Kota lightsaber. Grif is offering Kota as an empty hilt capable of accepting electronics. Grif offers installation services and customization upgrades as well. A limited run of 15 units, Grif’s Custom Lightsabers opened the Kota run September 2018.

The Kota lightsaber is comprised of a machined 6061-T6 aluminum hilt. Full length version of the hilt measures 13.25 inches long. Buyer may select the hilt length from a range of 11 inches to 13.25 inches (Grif recommends 11.5 inches or longer for crystal chamber hilts).
Emitter section features a 1 inch diameter blade socket. Grip section features a 1.35 inch outside diameter (OD) and 1.12 inch inside diameter (ID) with 8 inches of space for electronics installation. hilt is compatible with GOTH3Design 1.11 inch chassis (sold separately). Grif recommends a 12 mm switch hole for pressing through the a grip wrap, but will machine holes in a buyer requested area. Empty hilt does not include a switch.
The empty/unfinished hilt features two switch holes, two set screws and Covertec wheel. Grif offers additional customizations to the finish including: acid aging and moly resin bake on finish (new or weathered). Grip section on the hilt is suitable for wrapping or etching. Buyer may add wrap themselves or Grif offers a standard leather wrap or game accurate leather wrap.
