KR Sabers released the Fortis lightsaber. The custom saber, an original design, features removable shrouds and other elements favoring etching, weathering and overall customization by the end user. KR Sabers offers Fortis as an empty hilt (for DIY, display, or cosplay). The company also offers several options of DIY electronics kit bundles as well. KR Sabers released Fortis in late September 2023.

Fortis is comprised of a CNC machined 6061 aluminum hilt with brass accents. Hilt accepts a 1 inch diameter blade (not included). Polished aluminum shrouds layer on top of the anodized satin black main body. Body features a slightly tapered grip section with knurling in order to create an ergonomic grip. The shrouds, which are removable, may be removed for customizing (e.g. etching, weathering, etc.). Kit includes two spring-loaded actuators for installs. Finally, kit includes both a Covertec wheel and a tri-ring for wearing the hilt. Buyer may utilize one or both of the two belt hanging solutions on the hilt.
KR Sabers offers Fortis as an empty hilt or as an empty hilt bundle with a chassis and DIY electronics kit. The company offers three different bundles: hilt with ECO Chassis DIY Install Kit, hilt with ECO Crystal Chamber Chassis DIY Install Kit, or hilt with metal Master Chassis DIY Install Kit. Each DIY install kit includes a soundboard of the buyer’s choice. Note that install kits require the buyer to solder and install the hilt themselves.
Fortis shares a similar color scheme and complimentary design aesthetic to the KR Sabers Regiis lightsaber (released in 2022). Concept artist sxeven.art designed both hilts.
