The bondar kyber crystal first appears in the video game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (2003). Within the game, the kyber crystal has as 25% chance (or 1 out of 4 chance) of stunning an opponent within the game on a hit for one round of gameplay.
At later points in the game, the player may choose to utilize a bondar crystal during their lightsaber construction. If the player chooses to select a bondar crystal, then their weapon becomes a non-lethal stunning weapon.
According to Star Wars Legends, a Jedi Master is named Anoon Bondara. He is eventually destroyed by Darth Maul.
