The Yoda cane is a type of wooden walking stick called a gimer stick belonging to Jedi Grand Master Yoda. Gimer sticks are constructed from wood from a gimer bush, a plant that grows on Dagobah and the Wookiee homeworld Kashyyyk. Yoda uses multiple different gimer sticks throughout his lifetime. Each walking stick is sized and suited for his diminutive 0.66m frame (roughly 2’2″).

Yoda’s gimer stick is commonly depicted as featuring an asymmetrical, organic, natural wood shape that curls into a curved hook handle or a knob handle at the end. Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge sells an officially licensed Yoda cane at Dok Ondar’s Den of Antiquities.

Yoda Cane in Star Wars Canon
Yoda uses a gimer stick for much of his 900 year lifespan including during his time serving on the Jedi High Council and his later exile on Dagobah. In addition to serving as a walking stick, a gimer stick also contains nutritious juices inside capable of easing thirst and functioning as a natural painkiller.
During his tenure with the Jedi Order, Yoda would hobble into a room with Padawans while using his cane only to cast the item away and demonstrate his powerful Force abilities. He would then pick up the cane and resume using the item while leaving the room. His intention, part as a lesson and part as a joke, is to keep the Padawans guessing whether he requires the cane or not. During the events of Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones (2002), Yoda uses the same strategy prior to and following his energetic lightsaber duel with Count Dooku on Geonosis.
In Yoda’s later years exiled on the swamp planet Dagobah, the Jedi Master comes to genuinely rely on using a gimer stick for walking.
