Cere Junda Lightsaber in Star Wars Canon

The Cere Junda lightsaber is comprise of a cylindrical metal hilt. The hilt features a flared emitter and a wrapped grip section (x-shaped pattern). A Tri-Ring caps off the end of the hilt. The kyber crystal equipped lightsaber emits a green blade.

Cere Junda trains in the ways of the Force at the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. Jedi Master Eno Cordova selects her as his apprentice. After rising to the rank of Jedi Knight, she serves the Jedi Order as a Jedi seeker, an individual tasked with finding and recruiting Force-sensitive younglings. She takes on Trilla Sudari as her apprentice.

After the execution of Order 66, Cere Junda, Trilla Sudari, and a small group of Jedi youngling initially evade death as the hands of clone troopers. Junda tries to lure the Imperials away from the others. The Empire captures her. After being extensively tortured for information, she gives up Sudari. Trill Sudari endures similar torture and falls to the dark side. Trilla becomes a Jedi hunting Inquisitor and eventually takes on the name Second Sister.

After her fall to the dark side, Second Sister visits her former master in captivity. Second Sister taunts and mocks Junda. Junda, angry and grief stricken, taps into the dark side of the Force and kills everyone in the room except herself and her former apprentice. She escapes captivity, suppresses her connection to the Force, and joins the crew Greez Dritus’ ship Mantis. At some point after her escape, she removes and sells her lightsaber’s kyber crystal in order to help pay Greez Dritus’ debts. She keeps the hilt.

Fate of the Cere Junda Lightsaber

Years later, Cere Junda rescues the fugitive Jedi Padawan Cal Kestis from death at the hands of Second Sister. Cestis joins the crew of the Mantis and Junda mentors the former Padawan in the ways of the Force. She gives Cal Kestis her lightsaber. Kestis combines parts from the Cere Junda lightsaber with parts from his first master’s lightsaber in order to construct a new lightsaber for himself.
