The Qu Rahn lightsaber is a single-bladed green lightsaber constructed by Jedi Master Qu Rahn. Qu Rahn serves the Galactic Republic and Jedi Order during the Clone Wars era in Star Wars Legends. Qu Rahn passes the lightsaber on to the farmer Morgan Katarn, who gives the Qu Rahn lightsaber to his son, Kyle Katarn. The Qu Rahn lightsaber serves a Kyle Katarn’s first lightsaber.

Qu Rahn Lightsaber Construction and History
The Qu Rahn lightsaber is a green-bladed lightsaber constructed by Jedi Master Qu Rahn. Qu Rahn, a Clone Wars era Jedi Master, survives the Great Jedi Purge and goes into hiding. The cylindrical hilt is primarily metallic silver in color with black accents and a copper colored section near the emitter. A flat ‘spine’ runs most of the length of one side of the hilt. A ring is attached to the pommel.
A Force vision leads Qu Rahn to the farmer Morgan Katarn. Foreseeing his own imminent capture, Qu Rahn passes the lightsaber on to the farmer Morgan Katarn. Qu Rahn is captured by Jerec and his band of Dark Jedi. Jedi Master Qu Rahn briefly uses the Force to steal the Dark Jedi Yun’s lightsaber, wielding the weapon against the Seven Dark Jedi. Jerec ultimately uses his red-bladed lightsaber to strike down Qu Rahn.
Kyle Katarn’s First Lightsaber
Morgan Katarn hides the Qu Rahn lightsaber inside the family droid WeeGee. The lightsaber remains hidden during Morgan Katarn’s capture and the raid and ransacking of his homestead. Kyle Katarn later recovers the Qu Rahn lightsaber after watching a holorecording of his father. His father encourages the younger Katarn to, “Use it well. Use it for good.” The Qu Rahn lightsaber serves a Kyle Katarn’s first lightsaber.
Kyle Katarn uses the lightsaber to duel the Dark Jedi Yun. Katarn defeats you and spares the Dark Jedi’s life. Yun escapes. Katarn again uses the lightsaber to defend himself against the Dark Jedi Maw. Katarn defeats Maw, however, the Dark Jedi taunts Katarn about his father’s death. Katarn strikes down Maw in anger. Katarn is captured by Jerec and the Seven Dark Jedi. The Dark Jedi Boc breaks the lightsaber, smashing the hilt with a rock.
Behind the Scenes
The Qu Rahn lightsaber first appears in Star Wars Legends in the video game Star Wars: Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II (1997). The lightsaber also appears in the magazine Star Wars Insider 40 (1998).
Qu Rahn Lightsaber in Real Life
No officially licensed Qu Rahn lightsaber toys or prop replicas exist. LDM Custom Sabers released a limited run of a custom, Qu Rahn inspired design called the DF2 Katarn QR lightsaber.
