REVIEW Starfall Sabers Rahm Kota Variant Lightsaber Hilt

This is a Starfall Sabers Rahm Kota Variant Lightsaber and I believe it’s a one-of-a-kind design. The custom saber is somewhat inspired by the design of the Rahm Kota lightsaber. Although Starfall Sabers makes two standard Rahm Kota inspired lightsabers (one is named Kota the Elder and the other is named Kota the Younger), the company has also made one-off and limted run Rahm Kota inspired variations, including the hilt shown in this review.

The Rahm Kota variant hilt is about 10.5 inches long. The hilt features slanted emitter shroud with a small cut or ‘bite’ out of the highest part of the piece. The emitter shroud is tarnished, weathered and blackened. A shiny gold colored plate is situated below a shallow groove. The bright and vibrant plate offsets the dark and worn look of the all around hilt. The hilt widens out slightly at the neck. A cutout in the shape of a corner or a right angle is situated on either side of the neck. The ‘corner cut’ resembles an extremely similar cut in the bottom half of a Graflex 3-Cell Bottom Tube.

About two thirds of the entire hilt is covered in a dark brown, genuine leather wrap. The leather is cut into a thin strip. A low profile clamp card style piece, with thin, horizontal grooves, is embedded in the hilt near the top of the extensive leather wrapped section. Two screws attach the rectangular piece in place. The ‘clamp card’ area, which is weathered with some intentional dents, is purely decorative.

The notched pommel is extensively tarnished and weathered as well, much like the emitter section. A few short, rounded ‘fins’ encircle the base of the pommel. A small d-ring is attached to the side of the pommel as well. A thin, gear shaped component serves the vent on the base of the pommel.
