Hasbro to release AT LEAST 3 new Star Wars Force FX Lightsabers in 2019

Hasbro announced the release of at least three brand new Star Wars: The Black Series Force FX lightsabers in 2019. The three lightsaber models we know about so far are all from the Prequel Trilogy. Three new Force FX lightsabers will be: the Mace Windu lightsaber, the Darth Maul lightsaber from The Phantom Menace and the Obi-Wan Kenobi lightsaber from The Phantom Menace.

The release of the three new Force FX Prequel Trilogy lightsabers coincides with the 20th anniversary of the first Prequel Trilogy film, Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace. The Phantom Menace premiered in May 1999.

Hasbro, which announced the three new lightsabers in late July 2018 at San Diego Comic Con International, also told fans to watch for additional product reveals at upcoming conventions. That means it’s possible we could see two more unnamed Force FX lightsabers, in addition to the three named sabers, released in 2019 as well.

This is pure speculation, but I think it’s likely one of the additional lightsabers will be the Count Dooku lightsaber because the distinctive curved-hilt is a popular Prequel Trilogy design. A Darth Sidious Force FX lightsaber, another fan favorite, would be another product possibility. Hasbro will likely release Rey’s new Star Wars Episode 9 lightsaber, whatever that may be, as a Force FX lightsaber as well.

No word yet on the release dates of the new batch of 2019 Force FX lightsabers, but the Mace Windu lightsaber, Darth Maul lightsaber, and Obi-Wan Kenobi lightsaber will likely become available for pre-order in the coming months.
