The Force FX lightsaber battery packs are wireless, making them easy to install and remove. A downside of the wireless battery packs, though, is a lot of people end up losing the battery packs after they remove them from the lightsaber. It’s somewhat common for people to search for places to purchase replacement battery packs online.

Although Hasbro offers replacement parts for some of their products, the company informed me that “[r]egrettably, the parts you have requested are not available separately”. So if you lose a Hasbro Force FX lightsaber battery pack, it may be difficult to find a replacement. Replacement battery packs sometimes turn up on eBay [AFFILIATE LINK] or other secondary markets, but they can be hard to come by.

Although the actual, functional, charging part of the battery pack is the same for all lightsabers, the pack often features some type of decorative add-on component that changes the length of the pack to fit the specific lightsaber hilt model. For example, the Kylo Ren battery pack has an added plastic component at the bottom of the saber. The extra length of the battery pack means the Kylo Ren battery pack DOES NOT fit in other lightsabers, like the Rey (Jedi Training) lightsaber.

You would think that the battery packs would be the same for all of the Hasbro The Black Series Force FX lightsabers, but this is not the case. The battery packs are designed specifically for individual lightsabers and are NOT interchangeable from lightsaber to another. The lack of compatibility is a little unfortunate–just be aware.

  1. So what is the deal with all of The Black Series FX lightsabers that I am seeing that say on the box that it requires 3 AAA batteries? Was there a change? Are these fakes/bootlegs? What’s the story? Thanks.
