LEGO Star Wars Mech is a series of small sets featuring a minifigure piloting a large, humanoid robot. The buildable robots utilize articulating shoulders, legs and fingers, allowing the user to pose the figure. Collect multiple sets to create epic team ups or battles between characters.
Designed for younger builders ages 6 and up, the sets are easy to build and pack in a lot of play value for a relatively modest price point. Each set, which includes 133 to 154 pieces, retails for $15.99.
LEGO Star Wars Mech History
Although LEGO released the first Star Wars themed Mech sets in 2023, the company previously released many Mech sets across various subthemes including: Super Heroes, Monkie Kid, and NINJAGO, among others. The first ever LEGO Mech set is Recon-Mech RP 7314 (2001 release), which is part of the Life on Mars subtheme.

As of 2023, LEGO has released three Star Wars Mech sets. Since the series is very new and seems to be selling well, the company will likely release more sets in the series in the coming years.

A gray Imperial logo pattern tile attaches to the Mech’s chest plate. The included Stormtrooper minifigure pilots the robot in an opening cockpit behind the chest plate. Set includes a minifigure-scale blaster accessory for the stormtrooper as well.

The large, transparent red blade is a brand new piece, designed specifically for this set. A decorated tile with iconic Darth Vader chest box patterning connects to the robot’s chest plate. The included Darth Vader minifigure pilots the robot in the opening cockpit behind the chest plate. Set includes a minifigure-scale red-bladed lightsaber accessory for the fearsome Sith Lord as well.
Note that adult collectors are purchasing the Darth Vader Mech set specifically to acquire the Darth Vader minifigure. Unlike many existing Darth Vader minifigures, this new Darth Vader minifigure features printed armor and stripes patterning on the arms.
