“Do you get to keep your lightsaber?” a fan wrote.
“I have the helmet and the lightsaber,” Adam Driver said. “Right now it’s in a box in a storage space because I’m not really sure what to do with it.”

On the one hand, keeping an actual prop lightsaber from a Star Wars film sounds so glamorous. On the other hand, hearing that the mighty Kylo Ren lightsaber is tossed into Adam Driver’s storage space along with other things that Driver’s “not really sure what to do with”…well, that sounds very commonplace and even relatable.

What would you do if you own a prop lightsaber from a Star Wars movie? As fans, many of us are probably thinking to ourselves, “If I owned an original Kylo Ren lightsaber prop, I’d have a really nice display case for it and it would be on my shelf and everyone would see it.”

Consider how valuable and irreplaceable an original Kylo Ren crossguard lightsaber prop would be. The saber would probably fetch thousands or tens of thousands of dollars at auction. If you had people over to your house, or especially if you had a party, you’d maybe want to put the lightsaber away because you’re nervous that the saber could disappear or get damaged somehow.

I’d be curious to know where or how other Star Wars actors store and display their lightsabers. Several Star Wars actors were given prop lightsabers including: Liam Neeson (Qui-Gon Jinn), Ewan McGregor (young Obi-Wan Kenobi), and Samuel L. Jackson (Mace Windu). Other Star Wars actors may have been given lightsabers as well. If Adam Drive has a Kylo Ren lightsaber, I would think that Daisy Ridley would have a Graflex lightsaber, but I can’t confirm this.

Where do the actors keep the lightsabers? Do they display their lightsaber in the living room or office on a shelf? Maybe they just keep the saber in a storage space, like Adam Driver.
