Are Ultrasabers Limited Edition (LE) Lightsabers Actually Limited?

Ultrasabers offers a range of Limited Edition (LE) lightsabers that don’t seem to be limited at all. The term “limited” typically implies a scarcity or a temporary time frame. A lightsaber could be available for a limited time (e.g. one month, one years, etc). Alternatively, a lightsaber could have a limited run of units available (e.g. 100, 1000, 10,000, etc).

The Ultrasabers so called ‘Limited Edition’ lightsabers don’t have either a time restriction or quantity restriction or ANY other constraints that I’m aware of. The limited edition lightsabers seem to be as widely available as the regular edition lightsabers.

The Limited Edition light side and dark side sabers follow a similar pattern. The difference between a regular light side version of a hilt and an LE version is some of the grooves in the LE version are a metallic gold color. The difference between a regular dark side version of a hilt and an LE version is some of the grooves in the LE version are a metallic silver color. The Limited Edition option typically applies to the low to mid-range lightsabers manufactured by Ultrasabers.

Did Ultrasabers ever intend for their ‘Limited Edition’ lightsabers to be ‘limited’ in some way? It’s hard to tell. Either way, the company doesn’t seem to emphasize the scarcity of their LE products at the moment. Also, on the Ultrasabers websites ‘LE’ is rarely spelled out as ‘Limited Edition.’

Here’s a list of Ultrasabers Limited Edition hilts:
