Ox Works OxW-VZ Lightsaber Unveiled (Crystal Reveal) | New Saber Alert

Ox Works OxW-VZ lightsaber has been unveiled. The custom saber is inspired by the design of the Ven Zallow lightsaber in SWTOR. The niche character hilt is capable of accepting an electronics installation, although Ox Works states “this model isn’t exactly a hilt where you can park a bus inside”. The OxW-VZ lightsaber, a limited run, is expected to ship in late 2017.

The OxW-VZ lightsaber is about 12.5 inches long and accepts a 1 inch diameter blade. The hilt is comprised primarily of aluminum and brass with subtle plastic accents. A proprietary LED module is included. The hilt breaks down into four main segments: an emitter section (with an s-curve emitter shroud), body section (with activation box and possible crystal reveal), grip section (with three circle cutouts), and pommel.

OxW-VZ is a Hero lightsaber intended for display, cosplay, spinning and light to moderate dueling (Ox Works plans to launch a stunt version of the saber for heavier dueling at a later time).

The body of the hilt features a section that may be configured as a crystal chamber. The lid of the crystal chamber is held in place with neodynium magnets. The production hilt design will be more accurate and higher in quality than the prototype hilt.
