Saberbay Republic Commando Lightsaber has been unveiled. Designed by Jimmy’s Saber Junk, the custom saber is inspired by the lightsaber in the video game Republic Commando (2005). The lightsaber is available as an empty hilt kit for DIY or display. Saberbay began accepting pre-orders for the Republic Commando lightsaber in October 2022 an estimated shipping window in late November or early December 2022.

The Republic Commando lightsaber is comprised of a CNC machined metal hilt with aluminum elements along with genuine copper and brass sections near the emitter. Hilt measures 11 inches long and uses a 1 inch diameter blade holder with hidden blade retention screw. Hilt interior may accept up to 28mm speakers and up to 21700 battery size.
Polished aluminum sections include the pommel, low profile control box, and inverted truncated cone-shaped emitter. Control box uses two spring-loaded actuators along with two clear shine through pieces. Install the hilt with accent LED in order to illuminated the shine-through section. Genuine brass and real polished copper form the neck section and add some weight to the top of the hilt. The main body and slotted lower grip section feature dark gray anodizing.
Jimmy’s Saber Junk designed a dedicated chassis for the hilt. Saberbay sells multiple variations of the dedicated chassis for the following soundboards: Plecter Labs Crystal Focus 10 (CFX), Proffieboard, Sabertec Golden Harvest V3, KR Sabers Verso soundboard.
