Rana Kant in Star Wars Canon
Rana Kant learns the ways of the Force eventually ascending to the rank of Jedi Master. She trains Stellan Gios her apprentice until he becomes a Jedi Knight. She eventually serves on the Jedi High Council. Kant dies between 232 and 231 BBY. Following her death, the Jedi High Council gives her lightsaber to her former Padawan, Stellan Gios.
Sometime around 231 BBY, Nihil raiders attack the Republic Fair on the planet Valo. Stella Gios uses the Rana Kant lightsaber to kill a Nihil raider that was about to kill him. He later wields the lightsaber alongside his own folding crossguard lightsaber in battle. He defends many individuals from the attack including several distinguished leaders like Queen Elarec Yovet and Supreme Chancellor Lina Soh. Hundreds of thousands of individuals ultimately perish during the attack and the planet Valo suffers widespread devastation.
Following the attack on Valo, Gios lends the Rana Kant lightsaber to Padawan Bell Zettifar. Zettifar had lost his own lightsaber during the battle.

The Rana Kant lightsaber first appears in the Out of Print special edition cover art for the novel Star Wars The High Republic: The Rising Storm (2021). In the artwork, Jedi Master Stellan Gios wileds the lightsaber along with his own folding crossguard lightsaber. The artwork is by Jama Jurabaev.
