Anja Gallandro Lightsaber in Star Wars Legends
The Anja Gallandro lightsaber is comprised on an ancient lightsaber hilt with a lavishly ornate, basket-shaped handguard. The exact age and origin of the lightsaber is unknown. The lightsaber emits an acid-yellow blade.
Anja Gallandro, daughter of Han Solo’s rival Gallandro, is born on the planet Anobis in 2 BBY. She meets the Jacen Solo, Jaina Solo and Lowbacca when a group of thugs ambush them on Ord Mantell. To everyone’s surprise, she ignites an ancient sickly-yellow-bladed lightsaber and defeats the thugs. She meets Han Solo and becomes angry, believe Solo killed her father. Solo denies the accusation.
Anja Gallandro is secretly working as an agent of Czethros, an ostensibly legitimate businessman who is actually a scheming, high ranking member of the Black Sun crime syndicate. She receives payments in the form andris spice, which heightens her senses and enables her to wield her ancient lightsaber like a Jedi. She develops an addiction to the spice.
After Han Solo helps broker peace on her homeworld Anobis, Anja Gallandro decides she may have misjudged the Solo family. She accompanies the Jacen and Jaina Solo to the Jedi Praxium on Yavin 4 where she undertakes Jedi training.
Anja Gallandro accompanies the Solo twins and several other young Jedi to Cloud City. On the trip, the young Jedi discover Czethros’ true role in the Black Sun and his ambitions for galactic domination. Black Sun mercenaries ambush Jacen, Lowbacca, and Tenel Ka, nearly killing Jacen in the process. Gallandro feels bad about the incident and she comes to release Czethros cares little for her well being. Her spice addition leads her to go underground while New Republic officials search for Czethros.
After Gallandro steals Zekk’s ship to locate a stash of spice, Jacen, Tenel Ka, and Zekk pursue her to Mon Calamari. Jacen confronts her and a Jedi Master Cilghal helps heal her spice addition. The group then locates and destroys the hidden stash of spice. Gallanadro intentionally drops her lightsaber into water, giving up the ancient weapon along with her spice addiction.
Czethros is ultimately arrested. Anja Gallandro apologizes to Han Solo for misjudging him. She decides to work for Lando Calrissian.
