Saberforge Vintage Saberforge lightsaber

REVIEW Vintage Saberforge Lightsaber | Clan Saber Style Design

Let’s take a look at a vintage Saberforge lightsaber. The lightsaber is an example of an earlier Saberforge design with a clan saber style vibe. I don’t know exactly how old the saber is and wasn’t able to locate the name of the lightsaber. The radiator style emitter section in particular somewhat resembles the Prequel Trilogy Plo Koon lightsaber. The saber is configured as a stunt saber with a white LED (no sound).

This vintage Saberforge lightsaber hilt is made of metal, measures about 10.75 inches long and accepts a 1 inch diameter blade. The two-toned hilt is mostly metallic silver in color with some black accents. There’s some slightly scratching and scuffing to the hilt and some of the black coloring is worn off. The hilt appears thicker and feels heavier than more modern Saberforge hilts. The hilt uses a blade retention screw to secure the blade.

A grooved radiator style emitter shroud attaches to the top of the hilt. A black activation switch is situated below the grooved grip section similar in style to the Luke ROTJ lightsaber. A Covertech knob attaches to the lower side of the hilt. A solid cylindrical pommel piece attaches inside the hilt with a pommel retention screw. Unlike this vintage Saberforge hilt, most current Saberforge hilts use vented, threaded pommels that screw into the hilt.

The hilt is equipped with a white in-hilt LED (no soundboard) and is powered by a battery pack with 3 AAA batteries. The hilt includes an all-metal blade plug that attaches to the hilt when the blade is not in use.

Overall, this vintage Saberforge lightsaber is a blast from the past with a very basic, nostalgic design.

Saberforge is one of the largest custom saber companies in the world. Based in the United States, the company offers one of the widest selections of custom lightsaber designs.
