Darth Chratis Lightsaber in Star Wars Legends
The Darth Chratis lightsaber, a Sith lightsaber, is a collapsible, dual-purpose weapon. The weapon may be extended as a long staff or shorted to half-length and wielded as a long-handled lightsaber. The bottom end of the hilt forms a notched, arrowhead-shaped point while a series of dark claws encircle the blade emitter.
The Darth Chratis develops a reputation as employing harsh training methods with Sith apprentices. When a droid maker named Lema Xandret refused to give her Force-sensitive daughter, Cinzia Xandret, to the Sith Empire for training, Xandret refuses and takes her family into hiding. Darth Chratis locates the family and takes the daughter as his final Sith apprentice. Cinzia Xandret would become known as Eldron Ax.
Traumatized and in fear of retribution from the Sith Empire, Lema Xandret and her remaining family members flee to a small Mid Rim planet called Sebaddon. Xandret clones her daughter and amasses a large contingent of hex droids, a fast-replicating type of combat droid. She programs all of the droids to protect her daughter at all costs.
In 3643 BBY, Chratis and Ax pursue Lema Xandret as an Imperial fugitive tracing her to Sebaddon. Lema Xandret and the Sebaddon colony eventually becomes fearful of the hex droids and attempt to shut them down. The hex droids kill the people, perceiving them as threat to the cloned Cinzia Xandret.
Due to the fast, self-replicating behavior of the destructive hex droids, the Sith Empire and the Republic determine the hex droids threaten to take over the galaxy. The Sith and the Jedi form an alliance to defeat the combat droids. During the ensuing battle, the hex droids recognize Eldron Ax as Cinzia Xandret and follow the Sith apprentice’s commands. Before commanding the droids to self-destruct, she orders the droids to kill Darth Chratis. The droids kill Chratis in battle.
