Foul Moudama Lightsaber in Star Wars Legends
The Foul Moudama lightsaber, a Jedi lightsaber, is comprised of a cylindrical metal hilt with a somewhat simple design. The lightsaber emits a light blue blade.
Foul Moudama studies the ways of the Force at the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. He is one of the only members of the Talz species to leave his homeworld at that time. He constructs a blue-bladed lightsaber as a Padawan. Moudama ascends to the rank of Jedi Knight and later Jedi Master.
Throughout the years, Foul Moudama hones his lightsaber combat skills. Despite his larger body type, Moudama develops and smooth, agile and swift lightsaber combat style. During the Clone Wars, Moudama serves the Jedi Order and the Republic as a Jedi General.
Near the end of the Clone Wars, Foul Moudama the Jedi Order stations Moudama at Jedi Temple. When General Grievous, the cyborg Separatist general, launches a surprise attack on Coruscant, Grandmaster Yoda commands Jedi Master Foul Moudama and several other Jedi to go protect Chancellor Palpatine, reinforcing Palpatine’s security detail. Meanwhile, Grievous leads a group of MagnaGuards to capture the Chancellor.
Although the chancellor’s Jedi protectors attempt to relocate the chancellor to a secure location, Grievious and the MagnaGuards hunt them down. Grievious outmatches Moudama and the rest of the Jedi security detail, and strikes them down one by one until they are all defeated. Grievious adds the Foul Moudama lightsaber to his collection. Grievous successfully kidnaps Chancellor Palpatine as planned.
Behind the Scenes
The Foul Moudama lightsaber first appears in the animated series Star Wars: Clone Wars (Mar 2005). The character name, Foul Moudama, is named after a Middle Eastern fava bean dish. Hasbro released a Foul Moudama action figure in 2005. The figure includes a blue-bladed lightsaber.
