Tulak Hord Lightsaber in Star Wars Legends

The Tulak Hord lightsaber, an orange-bladed Sith lightsaber, belongs to Tulak Hord, an Old Republic era Sith Lord. Hord rules the Old Sith Empire. He wears a black mask and is extremely skilled in lightsaber combat. Centuries after Hord’s time, Kreia characterizes Hord as “the greatest lightsaber duelist of the Sith Lords” who is “remarkable even for his time, when many true lightsaber masters lived.”

Tulak Hord and his loyal ally Khem Val amass a large army and engage in brutal military campaigns of terror on multiple planets. During the battles, Hord uses Sith magic to feed off the strengths of his opponents. The Sith Lord Aloysius Kallig joins Tulak Hord. Although Kallig helps win many victories for Hord, Hord becomes threatened by Kallig’s successes. Hord arranges for Kallig’s assassination.

Many years after Hord’s death, the Sith Lord Darth Marr recovers the Tulak Hord lightsaber on the planet Dromund Fels. He finds the lightsaber shortly before the rise of the Resurgent Sith Empire around 3678 BBY.

Behind the Scenes

The Tulak Hord lightsaber first appears in Star Wars Legends in the video game Star Wars: The Old Republic (2011). The lightsaber is first mentioned in the “Legacy of Tulak Hord” codex entry. Although many Sith lightsabers emit a red blade, the Tulak Hord lightsaber emits an orange blade instead.
