The Shaak Ti lightsaber is a single-bladed lightsaber constructed by Jedi Master Shaaki Ti in Star Wars Canon. The lightsaber emits a blue blade. Shaak Ti is a Clone Wars era Togruta Jedi Master known for her patience, wisdom, and skilled use of telekinesis during battle. The Shaak Ti lightsaber, a clan saber, has the same design as the Adi Gallia lightsaber. The hilt also shares similar design features with additional Prequel Trilogy/Clone Wars era lightsabers.

The Shaaki Ti lightsaber, which is made of metal, features a cylindrical shape with a flared/flanged emitter. A gold or brass colored emitter section contrasts the overall metallic silver colored hilt. The hilt feature thin, black accent groove throughout the design, including horizontal grooves and rectangular cutouts. Two small, domed switches are situated near the middle of the hilt and two flat cylinders protrude out of the lower part of the hilt. The diameter of the hilt tapers off into a truncated cone-shaped pommel at the bottom of the hilt.

Shaak Ti Lightsaber in Star Wars Canon

Jedi Master Shaaki Ti constructs the blue-bladed lightsaber at some point before 22 BBY and wields the lightsaber throughout the Clone Wars. During the Clone Wars, she serves as a general for the Republic and oversees the training of clone forces on Kamino.

During the Battle of Coruscant, a battle beginning with a massive Separatist invasion of the Galactic City, Jedi Master Shaaki Ti, Jedi Knight Roron Corobb and a clone task force are charged with protecting Chancellor Palpatine from General Grievous. After Grievous defeats Corobb and the clones, Shaaki Ti continues to fight until Grievous electrocutes her with electric cables. While the Jedi is knocked unconscious, Grievous takes the Shaaki Ti lightsaber as a trophy.

Grievous wields the stolen Shaaki Ti lightsaber on Utapau against Obi-Wan Kenobi until Kenobi cuts off the hand wielding the lightsaber. Kenobi ultimately defeats and kills Grievous. The fate of the lightsaber is unknown.

Shaak Ti Lightsaber in Star Wars Legends

According to Star Wars Legends, Shaaki Ti is extremely powerful and skilled in lightsaber combat and a master of lightsaber combat Form II: Makashi and Form IV: Ataru. She wields a blue lightsaber. In the 2003 animated TV series Star Wars Clone Wars, Shaaki Ti is shown wielding more a light blue or cyan lightsaber.

Shaaki Ti fights in a lightsaber duel with Starkiller, Darth Vader’s secret apprentice and assassin, on the planet Felucia. Vader had dispatched Starkiller to the planet with the objective of assassinating Shaak Ti. Near the end of the battle Shaaki Ti, injured say, tells Starkiller of his wasted potential as “Vader’s slave”. Starkiller reaffirms his loyalty to Vader. “Poor boy,” Shaaki Ti says, “The Sith always betray one another, but I’m sure you’ll learn that soon enough.” She falls into a mega-Sarlacc to her death.

Behind the Scenes

The Shaak Ti lightsaber first appears in Star Wars Canon and in Star Wars Legends in the film Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones (2002). In Star Wars Legends, the Shaak Ti lightsaber blade is depicted in different shades of blue, ranging from dark blue to a lighter blue or cyan color.

Shaaki Ti Lightsaber in Real Life

No officially licensed Shaaki Ti lightsaber toys or prop replicas exist. Several lightsaber wielding Shaaki Ti figures have been released including multiple Hasbro action figures, a LEGO minifigure, and a high end Sideshow Collectibles Premium Format Figure.

Several custom sabers inspired by the Shaaki Ti lightsaber exist. Saberforge Adamant, a custom saber, is inspired the Shaaki Ti / Adi Gallia lightsaber design. KR Sabers has manufactured a limited run of a custom saber inspired by the design of the Shaak Ti lightsaber as well.
