Saberbay ‘2 is Best’ lightsaber has been released. The custom saber, a limited run, is inspired by the Jedi Master Kelleran Beq off-hand lightsaber in The Mandalorian. Beq rescues Grogu during the aftermath of the enactment of Order 66. Saberbay offers the lightsaber as an empty hilt (for DIY, display, or cosplay) or as an installed pixel saber. Saberbay released ‘2 is Best’ in mid July 2023.

The ‘2 is Best’ lightsaber is comprised of a brushed aluminum hilt with anodized matte black accents. Hilt measures about 11.5 inches long and accepts a 1 inch diameter blade. Saberbay includes a free custom blade plug with the hilt. Outside diameter of the hilt measures about 36 mm in the ribbed grip section. Hilt breaks down into three main pieces: emitter/neck section, main body with switch section and removable gear-shaped pommel. Pommel features discreet sound venting on the bottom.
Features a hidden blade retention screw in the emitter section. Anodized red and black switch actuators enhance the Prequel Trilogy era design sensibility of the hilt. A black Covertec wheel, for wearing the hilt, attaches to the lower part of the hilt. Saberbay offers a basic chassis or crystal chamber design for an additional fee.
In addition to offering an empty hilt version of ‘2 is Best’, Saberbay also offers the saber as an installed pixel saber. The pixel saber version comes equipped with a Plecter Labs Crystal Focus 10 (CFX) soundboard.
Jimmy’s Saber Junk designed the hilt. The name ‘2 is Best’ refers to Beq wielding two lightsabers in The Mandalorian flashback scenes. “Best” is also a nod to the Kelleran Beq actor Ahmed Best.
