Jawa’s Junkyard DRK SAI lightsaber has been unveiled. The custom saber takes design inspiration from the legendary Darksaber, a black-bladed lightsaber and symbol of leadership among Mandalorians. DRK SAI, a stainless steel construction, is limited run. Jawa’s Junkyard offers the saber as an empty hilt for DIY or display or as a fully installed pixel saber. The company began accepting pre-orders for DRK SAI in late June 2023.

The DRK SAI hilt, a machined stainless steel construction, weighs a hefty 1kg (about 2.2lbs) empty. Hilt’s steel composition provides ample opportunity for additional customization like weathering. The sleek, thin hilt measures about 36cm long and 20mm thick. Remove a flat panel on the side of the hilt to reveal the inside of the hilt. Hilt’s installable space measures 15mm deep and a bit over 30mm wide. Two-switch configuration features cut-out sections for two brass tactile switches.
Jawa’s Junkyard offers DRK SAI empty (for DIY or display) or as a fully installed pixel saber. Note that custom flat blade is available separately from The Saber Trader. For those doing their own installs, Jawa’s Junkyard developed a custom chassis for the hilt (sold separately).
Additionally, the hilt is designed to work with a custom flat blade from The Saber Trade (sold separately). The custom flat blade is a fully installed pixel blade with LEDs and PCB wires. The Saber Trade offers two blade designs: Solid (with bright edges) or Swirly (with bright edges and some swirly flourishes).
