The Sarenda lightsaber is an ancient single-bladed cyan lightsaber in the possession Sarenda. Sarenda is a Force-sensitive human female from the planet Taanab. After discovering an ancient lightsaber in cave, Sarenda seeks out the scholar Hethan Romund to learn more about her heritage.

Sarenda Lightsaber in Star Wars Legends

Sarenda in born on the planet Tanaab to a large family with several sisters. She helps operate the family farm. She develops the skills of a mechanic, learning to fix things and repair farm equipment.

At one point Sarenda explores a cave near the family farm. Inside the cave she discovers statues and intricate carvings on the wall. She also finds the long-dead skeletal remains of an individual grasping an ancient device.

She takes the device back to the farm, repairs it, and activates its energy blade. Her father and aunt inform her the device is an ancient lightsaber and that her ability to repair and ignite the weapon indicates she is Force-sensitive. Her aunt advises her to leave Tanaab and seek out the scholar Hethan Romund for more answers.

Before Sarenda can reach Romund, however, a Dark Jedi named Malefax kidnaps the scholar and takes her to the planet Spintir. Around 0 ABY, Sarenda teams up with three other Force sensitive individuals to mount a rescue mission.

The Sarenda lightsaber first appears in the Star Wars: Force and Destiny Core Rulebook (2015), the primary guide to Star Wars: Force and Destiny roleplaying game.
