The Darth Caldoth lightsaber is a single-bladed red lightsaber wielded by the Darth Caldoth in Star Wars Canon. Darth Caldoth is a Duros male Sith Lord and author of the book The Bestiary of Darth Caldoth. At one point, according to legend, Caldoth and his Sith apprentice Ry Nymbis are considered the most powerful individuals in the galaxy.

Darth Caldoth Lightsaber in Star Wars Canon
Darth Caldoth possesses a lightsaber with a standard cylindrical shape. The Sith lightsaber emits a red blade.
Darth Caldoth takes on Ry Nymbis as his Sith apprentice. Caldoth abandons Nymbis at a slave camp on the planet Simoth. He returns seven years later to find his apprentice stronger and angrier at him. Caldoth ignites his lightsaber and kills the slavers. He continues to train Nymbis. At some point during the apprenticeship, Caldoth sense Nymbis’ impending betrayal. Caldoth kills his apprentice, using a Sith ritual to turn Nymbis’ body into stone.
According to legend, the Sith Lord Darth Caldoth writes a book entitled The Bestiary of Darth Caldoth, a reference book about various Sith warbeasts. Many years later, Dooku peruses the book as a Jedi youngling.
Behind the Scenes
The Dark Caldoth lightsaber first appears in artwork for the short story “Gaze of Stone”, a piece in the Star Wars Myths & Fables (2019) short story collection. The artwork is illustrated by Grant Griffin.
