The Tu’ala lightsaber is a single-bladed blue lightsaber wielded by Jedi Knight Tu’ala in Star Wars Legends. Tu’ala is a Clone Wars era human female Jedi Knight who serves the Jedi Order and the Republic. A member of Mace Windu’s Jedi strike team to Geonosis, Tu’ala dies protecting Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi from being attacked from behind.

Tu’ala Lightsaber in Star Wars Legends
Tu’ala learns the ways of the Force at the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. Jedi Master Zuth selects her and trains her as his apprentice. At some point during her training, she hones her lightsaber combat skills by sparring against a multi-armed practice droid that’s armed with two lightsabers and two blasters. Her master emphasizes the important of being able to sacrifice your own life for the greater good. At some point prior to the Clone Wars, Zuth dies protecting a delegate from an assassination attempt.
Tu’ala ascends to the rank of Jedi Knight and participates in Mace Windu’s Jedi strike team to Geonosis. The team’s objective is to rescue Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, and Senator Amidala from Separatist capture. When the strike team arrives, the Geonosians and Separatist fight back. The ensuing battle becomes known as the First Battle of Geonosis.
During the battle, Tu’ala cuts down several Separatist battle droids with her lightsaber. She picks up a second lightsaber from a fallen Jedi and begins wielding two lightsabers simultaneously, a lightsaber combat technique known as Jar’Kai. When Tu’ala sees a Separatist destroyer droid and Geonosian soldier approach Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi from behind, the two Jedi are already occupied in battle with other threats. While she approaches and slices through the destroyer droid, the Geonosian manages to shoot her. She dies protecting the two Jedi that the strike team is attempting to rescue.
Behind the Scenes
The Tu’ala lightsaber first appears in “Lessons”, a story in the comic book Star Wars Tale 14 (2002).
