The Kelleran Beq lightsaber is a single-bladed purple lightsaber wielded by Jedi Master Kelleran Beq. Kelleran Beq is a human male Jedi Master who serves the Jedi Order. Ahmed Best portrays Kelleran Beq in the children’s game show Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenge. He reprises his role in an episode of The Mandalorian.

Kelleran Beq in Star Wars (non-canon)
Kelleran Beq studies the ways of the Force under the guidance of the Jedi Order. During his time as a Padawan, he earns the nickname “Sabered Hand” due to his skill with a lightsaber. He ascends to the rank of Jedi Master. Beq supervises Padawans undergoing the Jedi Trials. The protocol droid AD-3 and the astromech droid LX-R5 assist the Jedi Master.
Behind the Scenes
The Kelleran Beq lightsaber first appears in “Episode 1” (2020) of the children’s game show Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenge.
The Kelleran Beq lightsaber is constructed using Protection and Defense lightsaber pieces from Savi’s Workshop at Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge. Ahmed Best, who portrays Beq in the game show, added a leather wrap to the lower part of the hilt. “The leather on the hilt is large enough for one hand,” Best explains in a post on his Instagram account. “I took inspiration from a Filipino Martial Art that I study called Escrima and [Japanese swordsman] Musashi Miyamoto for a one handed style of fighting.”
Best says the lightsaber’s purple blade plays homage to Mace Windu’s lightsaber. He also says that he picked purple “because of the balance between the red and blue”.
