The Phoenix Props x SP Sabers Empress Regnant lightsaber has been unveiled. The custom saber is inspired by collapsible hilt Dark Rey lightsaber. Empress Regnant is available as a raw, polished, or weathered empty hilt kit. SP Sabers is offering electronics installation services as well. Phoenix Props is accepting pre-orders until early November 2020 with an expected shipping date in January 2021.

Phoenix Props is selling the Empress Regnant saber kit in two configurations: 1 saber hilt (no hinge) or 2 saber hilts (with a folding hinge to make a saberstaff). Bulk discounts are available for 5 or more hilts. Each hilt is made from aluminum and steel and feature red and black accent colors. Empress Regnant saberstaffs sold within the preorder period include 2 free Kylo style pommels, allowing the user to split the staff apart into 2 single hilts.
The hilt kit is available with a raw finish or polished or weathered as an upgrade. The polished finish has a bright, shiny and reflective finish. The weathered finish is chemically and manually weathered, including heat bluing in the emitter area to add realism, character, and “live-in universe” charm. The lightsaber accepts a 1 inch diameter blade and a standard 7/8 heat sink. The hilt may accommodate a 21700 battery near its base. One free Kylo style blade plug is included with the single hilt and two are included with the saberstaff.
A dedicated chassis kit for a single hilt or the saberstaff is available as an upgrade for DIY installers. The 3D printed functional chassis has been designed and tested by SP Sabers and will ship directly with the lightsaber.
