Kirak Infil’a Lightsaber Construction and History

Kirak Infil’a trains as a Jedi and serves the Jedi Order. At some point, Infil’a takes the Barash vow, which requires that he disengages from the Jedi Order and from everything but the Force itself. As a result of taking the vow and distancing himself from the Jedi Order, Infil’a evades execution during Order 66.

During the early years of the Great Jedi Purge and the early reign of the Galactic Empire, Darth Sidious commands Darth Vader to take a kyber crystal from a Jedi that he defeats in battle. Vader would bleed the crystal and take the crystal as his own. Vader pursues Kirak Infil’a, finding the Jedi near a city on the river moon of Al’doleem. Kirak Infil’a and Darth Vader engage in a lightsaber duel. During the battle, Vader uses the Force to destroy infrastructure. When the destruction threatens to flood the city, Infil’a tries to stop the water. Vader steals Infil’a’s lightsaber, Force chokes the Jedi Master, and drops Infil’a’s body into the flood.

Vader fulfills his mission. Following Vader’s acquisition of the Kirak Infil’a lightsaber, the Sith Lord bleeds the crystal. He wields now red-bladed lightsaber as his own, using the lightsaber to confront Jedi Master Jocasta Nu. The hilt is later destroyed during botched attempt to assassinate Darth Vader. Vader manages to salvage the kyber crystal, and uses the crystal to construct the Darth Vader lightsaber.
