The Inspira Designs ID4 lightsaber has been unveiled. The custom saber is inspired by the design of the SWTOR Bastila Shan lightsaber. The ID4 lightsaber, a limited run, is a metal hilt kit capable of accepting electronics installations. ID4 is available as a single-hilt or a saberstaff. The first run of the ID4 lightsaber opened in 2016. ID4 V2, a second run of the hilt, opened in October 2018.

The ID4 V2 lightsaber is comprised of a CNC machined aluminum hilt that is about 10.8 inches long. ID4 V2 is slightly longer and features slightly different switch hole positioning than ID4 V1. The hilt breaks down into three main pieces: emitter, grip section, and pommel. A coupler is included with two hilts purchased at the saber time. The coupler may connect two single hilts to form a saberstaff that is about 21 inches long.
The ID4 lightsaber hilt features a long, flared, tulip-shaped emitter with a u-shaped cutout on two sides. The diameter narrows at a choke point above the activation switch area. A series of thin horizontal grooves are situated in the lower grip section of the hilt.
ID4 V2 accepts a 1 inch diameter blade. The outside diameter (OD) is 1.375 inches and in the inside diameter (ID) is 1.11 inches at the grip section. ID4 V2 features two switch holes: one for a 12mm AV switch and the other for a tactile dome aux switch. A Covertec wheel and all require screws are included as well.
The ID4 lightsaber run in 2016 was the very first CNC machined lightsaber hilt run by Inspira Designs.
